Australia’s first research centre for cancer survivors
Cancer Council NSW partners with UNSW Sydney to establish the $40 million centre
A new research centre focused on improving the care and wellbeing of cancer survivors will be set up as part of a new 10-year partnership between Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) and UNSW Sydney.
Created through a joint investment of $40 million, the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship will work with industry and people who have been impacted by cancer to develop, test and implement solutions that address challenges faced by cancer survivors.
A key focus of the centre is to make it easier for survivors in regional and rural areas to get care and support.

It’s estimated there are currently over one million people living with and beyond cancer in Australia.
Many survivors have long-term health needs stemming from their treatment, including physical and psychosocial illnesses.
