Congratulations to Nyan Thit Tieu who has won a Consumer/Community Representative of the Year Award!
We were delighted to hear of Thit’s success in being awarded a ‘Consumer / Community Representative of the Year’ award at the 2022 Multicultural Health Communications Awards. Thit was nominated by the Cancer Institute NSW where she is a member of the consumer advisory committee. THit was one of three consumer representatives on the NSW Cancer Plan Governance Committee.
Thit established a support group for women from multicultural backgrounds who are affected by cancer called Sisters Cancer Support Group in 2014. She is also a member of the Consumer Voices in Clinical Trials in NSW (ConVICTioN) group that is run by Health Consumers NSW in conjunction with Sydney Health Partners and AccessCR.
Thit works tirelessly for the multicultural community and she is very deserving of this award. Hear Thit and Lisa Cox, Chief Operating Officer at the Cancer Institute NSW, speaking about her work.
