Cancer Voices NSW welcomes the launch of the NSW Cancer Plan 2022-2027 – a Plan to lessen the impact of cancer.
The NSW Cancer Plan 2022-2027 sets out a coordinated and collaborative approach to cancer control. It is the fifth cancer plan for NSW and builds on the success of previous plans, with the aim of lessening the burden of cancer in NSW.
The plan has been developed over the past 18 months and included consultation with more than 800 stakeholders across NSW including Cancer Voices NSW. The development of the plan began with stories and experiences of those affected by cancer and these have been central to the Plan’s development.
Three overriding principles guide the Plan and inform the way individuals, organisations and government will develop and deliver initiatives across all aspects of cancer care, research and experience:
- Equity of outcomes
- Person centredness
- Collaboration
The Plan is complemented by a foundational Implementation Plan which has been developed to support the achievement of the goals and priorities and provides a snapshot of activities and initiatives planned or underway for delivery over the next 12-18 months. It also provides details about the partners involved, timeframes for delivery and measures of success.
Cancer Voices NSW Is proud to have contributed to the development of all five plans.
