This report includes information about:
- the burden of cancer in NSW – including the number of people expected to be diagnosed with cancer and die from cancer in 2023
- the equity-led approach to improving cancer outcomes – particularly for groups that have poorer cancer outcomes, such as Aboriginal communities, culturally and linguistically diverse people and those in regional NSW
- cancer control initiatives – including cancer prevention, screening and early detection programs
- cancer treatment, care and support services – including supporting health professionals to provide safe and effective cancer care, and improving person-centred care through the patient-reported measures program
- cancer research – ensuring NSW is a leading hub for cancer research and clinical trials, building capacity across the research sector and driving the translation of research into clinical practice
- cancer insights – trends in cancer incidence, mortality and survival across all cancers combined and 13 common cancer types, with further detail available on Cancer Statistics NSW.
