New appointment – Professor Tracey O’Brien appointed CEO and Chief Cancer Officer at the Cancer Institute NSW.
Professor O’Brien is a paediatric and adolescent haematologist and oncologist with more than 25 years of experience improving the outcomes of people with cancer in Australia and internationally. She has been Director of the Kids Cancer Centre at the Sydney Children’s Hospital since 2016. Professor O’Brien is also Chair of the Cancer Australia Advisory Board.
Sarah McGill has provided great leadership as Acting CE since September 2021 and will return to her role as Director, Cancer Screening and Prevention when Professor O’Brien takes on her new role on 4 July.
